Cosimo Marco Scarcelli is committed to ensuring that this website is accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We continually work to improve the experience for all visitors and to apply the relevant accessibility standards.

Conformance status

This website aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities. The site is currently partially conformant: some content may not yet fully meet every success criterion.

Measures to support accessibility

  • Semantic HTML structure with correctly ordered headings and landmark regions.
  • A “Skip to content” link for keyboard users at the start of every page.
  • Visible keyboard focus indicators on all interactive elements.
  • Text and background colour combinations that meet AA contrast ratios.
  • Descriptive alternative text for meaningful images and accessible names for icons and controls.
  • Support for the prefers-reduced-motion setting, which disables non-essential animation.
  • Content available in both English and Italian.

Known limitations

Despite our efforts, some limitations may remain. Third-party embedded content (such as external metrics badges or maps) may not be fully accessible, and some older PDF documents may not be tagged for screen readers. We are working to address these issues.

Feedback

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of this website. If you encounter barriers or need information in an alternative format, please get in touch by email at cosimomarco.scarcelli@unipd.it. We aim to respond within a reasonable timeframe.

Assessment approach

The accessibility of this website was evaluated through a combination of automated testing (axe-core, WCAG 2.1 A/AA rule sets) and manual review of keyboard navigation, focus order, and colour contrast.
